BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A judge is giving Kyle Navin a little more time to decide whether to take a plea deal or go to trial on charges that he killed his Easton parents last year in an effort to get their money, according to the Connecticut Post.

At a hearing Thursday, Superior Court Judge Robert Devlin continued the case to Jan. 12 to allow for further discussion about the unspecified deal . Attorneys for both sides did not comment on the case Thursday, the Connecticut Post says.

Navin is charged with two counts of murder an one count of murder under a special circumstance. If convicted, the Bridgeport man could face the maximum sentence of life in prison.
