STAMFORD, Conn. — Police have released the names of the two Stamford brothers involved in Thursday’s fatal dirt bike collision.

The 14-year-old who died from injuries sustained in the collision was Kevin Bella. His brother Brandon, 16, remains in Stamford Hospital and is in critical, but stable condition, a news release from Stamford Police said.

The two boys were riding their dirt bikes in a city field formerly used for leaf recycling off of Long Ridge Road, and were riding towards each other when they collided, police say.

Both boys were found severely injured by a volunteer firefighter, and taken to Stamford Hospital, the release said. Kevin was pronounced dead later at Stamford Hospital.
