Motorcyclist Dies In Crash After Driving Between Cars On Route 8 In Shelton

SHELTON, Conn. -- A Derby man was killed during a traffic accident on Monday, June 27 when he tried to drive his Kawasaki motorcycle between two vehicles on Route 8 northbound in Shelton, according to state police.

Shawn Reynolds, 53, was killed when he hit the back end of a car in the right lane after attempting to squeeze between the car and another vehicle in the center lane, according to the Connecticut State Police.

Reynolds was thrown from his motorcycle into the back of the car he was attempting to pass, police said. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver did not receive any injuries.

Route 8 was closed for a few hours after the crash for the state police investigation.
