Stamford Police Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said police were called to a home at 4:35 a.m. Sunday for a fight that was causing a lot of noise.

When police arrived they found a 27-year-old man who had been beaten and had cuts to his head, face, and hands, police said.

The man told police he was drinking beer with his roommate Lajuj Emiliano, 33, and the juvenile but when the beer ran out they attacked him, causing him to lose consciousness.

After taking Emiliano into custody, police discovered he was wanted for never showing up in court for a 2013 crime in which he bit off another roommate's earlobe and swallowed it during a drunken fight. They also found that he was wanted under another name, Emilio Mendoza, for a 2015 assault charge.

Shawinisky said Emiliano admitted to being Mendoza and was charged with failure to appear in court, in addition to the new assault charges, and was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond.
