Man Suspected Of Road Rage Arrested In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford man suspected of letting his road rage get the better of him was arrested Monday, said Sgt. Robert Shawinsky.

Police say Richard Early, 59, punched another man’s truck after the drived honked his horn at him while the two were waiting at a red light in the Ridgeway Shopping Center. The punch caused a small dent in the truck’s door, and Early drove off after the incident, Shawinsky said.

Before hitting the truck, Early allegedly was yelling at other drivers, trying to figure out who had beeped at him, Shawinsky said.

Police found Early at home and arrested him, the sergeant said.

Early was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree breach of peace, and posted his $500 bond, Shawinsky said.
