STAMFORD, Conn. A man was shot in the leg on Perry Street on Stamfords West Side at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sgt. Paul Guzda said at the scene.
The victim's injuries appeared to be non-life threatening and he was taken to Stamford Hospital for treatment, Guzda said.
The sergeant added, "There may have been multiple shooters" based on people calling police to report the incident, but that has not been confirmed, he said. Police were able to find shell casings, he said.
Guzda said police are interviewing several people, but have not gotten much information about what took place.
Though early in the investigation, Guzda said he believes Wednesdays shooting is related to two earlier incidents this week in which Custer Street residents were shot and killed. Darious Jones, 21, was killed Sunday, and Wyclif Bel-Jeans body was found early Wednesday morning in Norwalk.
You got to believe its all somehow related, Guzda said, adding that no one yet knows if the connection is East Side-West Side, drugs or gangs.
