STAMFORD, Conn. -- A drunk Stamford man who spit on a police officer who was helping school children cross the street on Thursday, March 3, was arrested following a struggle with police, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Freddy Lala, 25, was walking in and out of traffic about 8 a.m. when the officer working at the intersection of Cove Road and Lockwood Ave. stopped Lala, who then became violent, said the Stamford Advocate.
According to police, Lala then began struggling with the officer and spit on him twice. He was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, being a negligent pedestrian, interfering with police and walking on the road while intoxicated. He was being held in lieu of $25,000 bond, added the Stamford Advocate.
