Man Charged With Making Video Of Woman, 48, In Stamford Beach Bathroom

STAMFORD, Conn. -- As a 48-year-old woman was in a stall in the West Beach bathroom Sunday morning she noticed a man looking under the door trying to make a video of her with a cellphone, Stamford police said.

Jose Arrunategui, 24 of Port Chester, N.Y., was charged with voyeurism and breach of peace after he allegedly trying to video women using the bathroom at Cummings Beach on Sunday.

Police were notified, and the harbor unit, which was in the area, spotted the suspect, police said. The man was apprehended and arrested soon afterward by other police units that arrived at the beach, police said.

Jose Arrunategui, 24, of Willett Ave., Port Chester, N.Y., was charged with voyeurism and breach of peace. His bond was set at $5,000, and his first scheduled court date is July 17.

Officers seized his cellphone, and he signed a consent to search form allowing the Digital Forensics Unit to search it, police said.
