STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 42-year-old man wanted his roommate to clean up and pay his rent on time and the answer he got was two punches in his face Wednesday night, said Stamford Police, who arrested a suspect.
Charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct is Ciro Barrios, 43, of 930 East Main St., Stamford.
When police arrived at the East Main Street residence they discovered a 42-year-old man with a swollen right eye that was turning black and blue, a one inch cut above his nose, a cut to his lip and dried blood on his face and clothing, police said.
He told police he confronted his roommate over what he called his sloppiness around the apartment and tardiness in paying his share pf the rent when he was attacked.
Police said the suspect had already fled the scene but Thursday morning an officer filling in for an absent school crossing guard noticed Barrios, who the officer knew from prior dealings walking by, police said. Barrios was taking into custody and held on a $5,000 bond. He was scheduled to be arraigned in court on Thursday.
