Man Arrested After Causing Disturbance At Loud Party In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A man was able to repeatedly squirm away from officers before he was eventually subdued after causing a disturbance late Sunday at a party in Stamford, police said.

Mario Gomez-Ascom, 39, of 88 Lockwood Ave., was charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with a police officer.

Officers were called to 88 Lockwood Ave. on the report of a loud party, police said. When officers arrived, they found about 150 in attendance at the party, police said.

Some people pointed out a man who they said had been aggressive with other partygoers throughout the night, police said.

When officers tried to get him out of the crowd, the man sprinted away and ran to nearby Lillian Street, police said. But he then made a U-turn back to his Lockwood Avenue residence, police said.

Officers were able grab him, but it took a while for them to subdue him as he was able to squirm away a number of times, police said.

Mario Gomez-Ascom, 39, of 88 Lockwood Ave., was charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with a police officer.

Bond was set at $2,500. His court date was unknown.
