Man Accused of Stamford Robbery And Assault

STAMFORD, Conn. — Police arrested a suspect in an assault and robbery Sunday morning, Sgt. Rich Barbagallo said.

The victim and suspect were on their way to a residence on Woodrow Street when the suspect, Byron Lima, pulled out a pellet rifle and then assaulted the victim and took his wallet, Barbagallo said. Police found Lima in his bedroom at the residence with a pellet rifle under his bed, Barbagallo said.

The victim and Lima had been arguing Saturday about the victim moving his car so the suspect could get to work, Barbagallo said. They met up later at the nightclub, and the victim drove the suspect home when the argument started up again leading up to the assault, he said.

The victim, 26, was treated for multiple contusions and lacerations to his face and neck, Barbagallo said.

Lima, 22, is expected to be charged with second-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and carrying a dangerous weapon, police said.
