STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man wasn't so lucky earlier this week after police turned up $700 worth of cocaine hidden in folded lottery tickets during a search of his apartment, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Police said that the Narcotics and Organized Crime squad discovered that Charles Whitfield, 53, was selling cocaine out of his Pequot Drive apartment and obtained a search warrant, said the Advocate.

During the search, an officer found seven Lotto tickets folded into envelopes, each holding a gram of cocaine, added the Stamford Advocate.

Whitfield was arrested and charged with possession and sale of narcotics, police said.
