Light Causes Fire At Stamford's Palace Theater

STAMFORD, Conn. — The Palace Theater had to be evacuated Friday night when a light set a curtain on fire, an e-mail from Jeffrey Schreider said.

The fire was put out by stage hands with a fire extinguisher, but there still was dense smoke in the theater, the e-mail said. Stamford Fire & Rescue Department also came to the theater to contain the situation, the e-mail said.

Several hundred people were there to watch Warren Miller’s “Flow State” premiere, the e-mail said.
