A 31-year-old Norwalk man reported that at around 7 p.m. on June 5 he accidentally left his wallet on a counter at the grocery store, located at 150 Ledge Road in Darien. Police said that when he realized he left the wallet behind, he returned but could not find it. The brown Nautica wallet contained about $300 cash, as well as a driver's license, debit cards, business cards and other personal papers.

Store surveillance shows a man picking up the wallet and leaving the store several minutes later, police said. The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall with a medium build, wearing light blue or khaki shorts, black sneakers and a hooded sweatshirt with green and white stripes over a black t-shirt. He was accompanied by a white female with dark hair wearing blue pants, a black jacket, black shoes and carrying a large black purse, police said.

The suspect did purchase items with cash at a register before leaving the store. Police said the suspect is not known at this time.
