House Fire Put Out On Stamford's West Side

STAMFORD, Conn. — A fire broke out in a third-floor attic on Corbo Terrace on Monday night, a news release said.

The blaze was reported just before midnight and put out about 30 minutes later. The third floor of the residence was heavily damaged by fire, and the entire house suffered smoke and water damage, the release said.

All of the residents had escaped from the house by the time firefighters arrived, despite initial reports that a person was trapped inside, the release said. The American Red Cross Disaster Response Team helped the residents find shelter.

Thirty-four firefighters from the Westside, Eastside, South End, Woodside and Central stations responded, the release said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Stamford Fire Marshal.
