Police told the Stamford Advocate that 44-year-old Dennis Chirino was staying in an abandoned building with a 35-year-old woman early Tuesday morning. The two had gotten drunk and fallen asleep, and when Chirino woke up he discovered that $50 was missing from his pocket, according to the Stamford Advocate.

He began yelling at the woman and accused her of taking the money, police told the Stamford Advocate. He then hit her in the head with a baseball bat, causing her to go to the hospital, the Stamford Advocate reported.

He was charged with second-degree assault and breach of peace, according to the Stamford Advocate.
