Ata round 3:35 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to the Chase Bank, located at 454 Post Road, on a report of a bank robbery. Police said the suspect walked into the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money. No weapon was displayed, nor was any threat made, police said.

The suspect left the bank after the teller gave him money from the teller drawer. Police said the exact amount of the loss is still being tallied. There were seven employees and one patron in the bank at the time of the robbery. There were no injuries or any threats made to anyone in the bank, according to police.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5 foot 9 to 6 feet tall, in his late 20s or early 30s. He was heavyset with a beard, wearing a dark colored ball cap, a dark colored oversized pattern shirt and baggy pants that were possibly gray or beige.

Police said he had tattoos on his left hand and on his face that were described as a "tribal" design. It is possible that these tattoos could have been temporary and part of an attempt to conceal his facial features, according to police.

After leaving the bank, police said he entered a white vehicle, described as a Toyota Camry with orange New York license plates. The vehicle was last seen exiting the parking lot and traveling eastbound on the Boston Post Road.

The Darien Police Department Detective Division is actively investigating the bak robbery, and the FBI has been advised as well. Anyone with information on the subject or vehicle is asked to contact the Detective Division at (203) 662-5330.
