Police have identified the man as Lorenzo Ochoa Beltran, 52, a native of Guatemala, said Sgt. Paul Guzda.
"We believe he died during the night and there was no sign of foul play or trauma," he said. An autopsy was performed Thursday.
Police said they don't believe he has any relatives in the area and may have to turn to the Guatemalan consulate to find them, Guzda said.
The abandoned house has been an occasional home for vagrants who who would enter the building. Guzda said the property owner has been diligent in trying to ensure no one is sleeping at the property.
He believed Beltran was slipping in at night and crawling under the porch where a mattress was set up. He said there is lattice work in front of the porch that makes it difficult for anyone from outside to see if someone is living there while making it relatively easy for someone to move it and slip in.
He said the man was discovered Wednesday morning not breathing by a couple of friends who went to a nearby business to have a call made to alert police.
The two men left the area as they didn't want to have any involvement, Guzda said
Police were able to identify him by Guatemalan identification he had on him.
