STAMFORD, CONN. -- A former bookkeeper who police said admitted taking thousands of dollars from a city company now faces larceny and other charges, according to The Stamford Advocate .

Jenna DiNapoli, 30, was working for the Asbury Moulding and Millwork Company when the alleged embezzlement of nearly $70,000 occurred, The Stamford Advocate reported.

According to an arrest affidavit, DiNapoli took responsibility for the thefts and expressed remorse, but claimed she had a psychological problem that had made her commit them, The Stamford Advocate story said.

According to the affidavit, she and her attorney were unable to reach an agreement on restitution with the company and DiNapoli was charged with first-degree larceny, illegal use of a credit card, and receiving stolen goods, The Stamford Advocat e story said.
