STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford police have sent all evidence collected from a Vine Road home to the state to be processed, Capt. Brian McElligott said Friday morning.
The evidence includes materials that could be used to build explosives, he said. McElligott would not say exactly what was collected other than “a variety of materials” because of the current investigation.
The homeowner, who admitted to owning the materials to police, has not been arrested, and is back in the house, McElligott said.
Police became aware of the materials Wednesday morning while assisting the city’s health department search the home for zoning violations, McElligott said previously. The department’s bomb squad went back to the house later in the day and collected evidence, he said.
The home was suspected of being used as a boarding house, which would be illegal in that neighborhood, he said.
