The Easton Police Department took part in the investigation of Christopher Barlow, who was arrested Monday in Massachusetts and charged with illegal possession of a firearm, impersonating a police officer and possession or control of an incendiary device or material.
Duxbury police began investigating Barlow after members of the Easton Fire Department grew concerned about guns in his possession, the Patriot Ledger said.
Barlow is due back in court July 21.
Duxbury police said they obtained search and arrest warrants for Barlow after a long investigation. Barlow also possessed fraudulent identification that made it appear that he was a law enforcement officer — including IDs for Homeland Security and the Coast Guard — and that he had purchased the parts to make several firearms, Duxbury police said.
The fake identifications and firearms were recovered during the search of his home, police said.

"The Easton Police Department has been working with the Duxbury Police Department in regards to the suspect Barlow," said a statement from Easton Police Chief Timothy Shaw. "Easton Police currently have an open investigation on Barlow."
Shaw said there will be no further comment until the investigation is completed.
Barlow is the first person to take part in the college live-in program at the Easton EMS, according to the Easton Courier.
He served as an EMT for the Brewster Ambulance Service in Massachusetts and hopes to become an emergency room doctor, the Courier reported.
He lived in the Easton Volunteer Emergency Medical Service building in town during the winter semester in exchange for working the midnight to 7 a.m. shift, the Easton Courier said.
