DOT Reports Accident On Merritt In Stamford Is Cleared

STAMFORD, Conn. — The state’s Department of Transportation is reporting on Twitter that the accident on the Merritt Parkway near Exit 34 in Stamford has been cleared.

ORIGINAL STORY: STAMFORD, Conn. — The right lane of the Merritt Parkway was blocked Wednesday morning after a car hit a fallen tree near Exit 34 in Stamford, State Police said.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured, police said.

The right lane was expected to reopen as soon as the Department of Transportation could remove the tree, police said. No estimated time was given.
