Darien Police Investigating Spree Of Car Break-Ins

DARIEN, Conn. — Darien police are investigating a number of car burglaries in town and believe that there may be two separate crime sprees involved, according to Darien police.

The first burglaries were reported March 21 on Walmsley Road and Cherry Street., police said. Nothing was reported taken at either location, according to police.

However, that same day, two items — a blue Kate Spade wallet, valued at $125, and a Kindle Fire, valued at $80 — were reported missing from a car on Fitch Avenue, according to police.

On Walmsley Road on March 22, two credit cards, a black Chloe purse valued at $1,500 and $70 in cash were taken from a vehicle, police said.  

Officers believe those burglaries are related, Darien police said.

In another set of car burglaries, the first report came on March 25 on Sunset Hill, where nothing was taken, police said.

An another incident March 25, which took place on Knollwood Lane, a blue leather Foo tote bag containing a Bible and paperwork was taken, police said. The tote bag and paperwork were recovered, police said.

On Peach Hill, sunglasses valued at $200 and gift cards were taken from a car, but those items have been recovered, police said.

In yet at another car burglary, reported March 26 on Fox Hill Lane, nothing was taken, police said.

Police believe those car burglaries are all related as well.

Two other car burglaries were reported on Knollwood Lane on March 24. Nothing was taken at those locations, police said.
