Ferne and Phillip Deans, both 36, of 100 Dekruif Place, the Bronx, were arrested on May 13 at their residence. They were arrested by New York City Police Department officers on a Stamford Police Department warrant. The Co-Op City Police Department also assisted.

Officers also seized numerous fake Florida driver's licenses, blank credit cards and forged credit cards in addition to commercial equipment used to manufacture credit cards, police said.

The equipment seized included a Datalink credit card embossing machine, which is used by banks to create debit/credit cards for their clients; an MSR card reader/writer; and a laptop with links to a website known for selling stolen card information, police said.

Stamford Police charge the two with credit card fraud and identity theft once they are extradited from New York, police said. In addition, the NYPD has charged the couple with multiple counts of felony forgery, criminal possession of a forgery device, and criminal possession of a forged instrument.

The investigation was led by Stamford Police investigators Sean Coughlin and Mike Stempien.

Capt. Richard Conklin and Lt. Diedrich Hohn praised them for their "relentlessness in pursuing these fugitives (that) has led to the seizure of a Credit Card Lab and prevented numerous additional people from being victimized."
