STAMFORD, Conn. - A Stamford man suspected of threatening his wife with a knife was arrested Thursday, police said.
During an argument with his wife, Braulio Navarro-Rivas, 41, took out a large kitchen knife and began slashing doors and walls in his home, police said.
The argument started when he came home intoxicated and turned the radio on loud, and his wife didn’t want the noise to wake up the kids, police said.
The wife reportedly took the children - a daughter, 7, and a one-year-old son - and locked the three of them in a bedroom and called police, when Navarro-Rivas took out the knife, police said. No injuries took place during the incident, police said.
When police arrived, the suspect did not have the knife, and it was seized for evidence, police said.
Navarro-Rivas was charged with second-degree threatening, carrying a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, and two counts of risk of injury to a child, police said. He was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
