The 56-year-old man told state police that he was at the college to pick up his sister-in-law around 9 p.m. He had parked outside the entrance to the east campus building, but when he thought he was putting on the brakes, instead he stomped on the gas pedal, sending the 2003 Subaru through the glass doors of the building, state police said.

The collision heavily damaged the doorway, as well as the car, police said.

The driver was transported by Norwalk EMS to Norwalk Hospital with minor back pain. He was issued a ticket for unsafe movement of a vehicle.
