Burning Tractor-Trailer Stalls Traffic On I-95 In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford firefighters responded to a burning tractor-trailer late Wednesday afternoon on I-95 north, a blaze that caused rush-hour traffic delays.

Stamford firefighters said that the fire involved the trailer and its contents. The truck was on the shoulder of the highway near Exit 9. 

Firefighters had to off-load the contents of the truck and use foam to extinguish the blaze, Stamford firefighters said via Twitter. 

A total of three engines and one ladder truck responded, Stamford firefighters said.
