Bridgeport Police: Teenage Girl Lured Into Car, Assaulted

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport Police are searching for a suspect who attempted to abduct a 17-year-old girl on Monday, officials said.

The incident took place at 7:15 a.m. near the corner of Boston and Palisade Avenues. 

The victim was walking to school when she was approached by a charcoal gray Toyota Yaris, police said. The driver attempted to lure the victim into the vehicle, police said. Once the victim was in the car, she was assaulted by the driver, police said. 

The victim was able to bail out of the vehicle while it was traveling on Boston Avenue, police said. The suspect then made a U-turn and traveled east on Boston Avenue toward Stratford, police said.

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic woman in her 40s. She had black hair in a ponytail, freckles on her face, and was wearing a black leather jacket. The Toyota Yaris was missing the rear bumper, leaving white styrofoam exposed, police said.
