BMW Grill Stolen, Land Rover Keyed In Darien

DARIEN, Conn. -- The front grill of a BMW was stolen while the car was parked in a driveway in Darien last week, police said.

Sometime between 7 p.m. on the night of Thursday, April 20 and 7:30 a.m. on the morning of Friday, April 21, the front grill was stolen from the 2003 BMW 325XI. The car had been parked in a driveway of a residence in the 400 block of Hoyt Street. The cost of replacing the grill was $100, police said.

A Darien resident also reported that her cary was keyed while parked at Middlesex Middle School on Saturday, April 22. Police said the 40-year-old Darien resident parked her 2010 Land Rover LR4 at the middle school between 12:15 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. It was parked in a permitted space next to the handicapped spaces in the front lot, police said.

Two long scratches were left on the front and rear passenger side doors, made by a key or other shape instrument, police said. No other vehicles appeared to have any damage. Police said they are looking to see if surveillance footage for the parking lot is available.
