GREENWICH, Conn. -- The son of billionaire Peter Brant and supermodel Stephanie Seymour tried to stiff a cab driver out of a $27.85 fare and attempted to run from Greenwich Police as they tried to handcuff him Thursday morning, police said.

Harry Brant, 20, of 924 North St., has been charged with two counts of interfering with an officer and one count each of sixth-degree larceny and possession of a narcotic after officers discovered a bag with a substance they believe to be a drug, police said.

Police said that a Stamford taxi driver called to say that a customer didn't pay a $27.85 fare at about 8 a.m. and fled the vehicle at the bottom of Greenwich Avenue.

Officers found the suspect near 55 Railroad Ave., sweating profusely, police said. He told police he took the taxi but didn't have the money to pay for it.

He yelled out "No! No!" and as he refused to be handcuffed and ran from officers, police said. Officers tackled him to the ground and placed him in handcuffs, police said. He tensed his muscles, swung his arms and kicked as he struggled as officers handcuffed him, police said.

He refused to identify himself but was recognized by one of the officers who was familiar with him, Greenwich Police said.

During a search, police discovered a bag with a white substance that tested positive for a narcotic, police said. Police didn't specify what narcotic.

He was released on a promise to appear in court on Aug. 4.
