In August, Westport Police said they received two separate anonymous tips that narcotics were being sold out of the residence by a male known as Josiah or “JoJo.”

The Detective Bureau began an investigation and conducted surveillance. The suspect was identified as Josiah Alicea, 18, of that address, police said. On three separate occasions, people leaving Alicea's residence were found to be in possession of marijuana, police said.

On Sept. 15, a search warrant was executed on the home, police said.

Upon arrival, officers found Alicea smoking marijuana in the presence of two juveniles, police said.

Detectives seized marijuana, scales, packaging materials, two BB guns and $1,246 in cash, police said.

Alicea was taken into custody and charged with risk of injury to a child, possession of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was held on $5,000 bond and for a court appearance on Sept. 25.
