17-Year-Old Shot Near Stamford Mall Monday Afternoon

STAMFORD, Conn. — A 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Atlantic Street near the Stamford Town Center at about 3 p.m. Monday.  

The victim chased the suspect after being shot but collapsed, Police Chief Jonathan Fontneau said.

The victim was taken to Stamford Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, Fontneau said. 

Police are looking for a black male, age 16 or 17. They are also seeking video footage from the area to get a better description of the suspect, Fontneau said.

Police found a bullet in the victim's pocket, Fontneau said.
