Police received a call at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday of shots fired on Strawberry Hill Avenue near Rock Spring Road. Shortly afterward, police received a call from the Stamford Hospital Emergency Room that a person had just arrived with a gunshot wound, Sgt. Paul Guzda said.

He said police arrived at the intersection to discover that “a shootout took place.”

Officers found shattered glass and eight spent shells, he said. Police believe two weapons were involved.

Police believe the victim was in a southbound vehicle on Strawberry Hill Avenue when someone opened fire on it, Guzda said.

The 14-year-old victim was uncooperative other than to say that he had been attending a baby shower at the fire station and that a dispute had occurred, he said.

Police believe the teen was dropped off at the hospital from a Jeep Liberty.

The teen was shot in the leg and a bullet grazed his chest, Guzda said. The teen was treated and released from hospital.
