11-Year-Old Stamford Girl Pregnant, Police Say

STAMFORD, Conn. — A 15-year-old Stamford boy suspected of impregnating an 11-year-old relative was arrested Thursday night, Sgt. Joseph Kennedy said.

In early June, Stamford Hospital alerted police that an 11-year-old girl was pregnant at the hospital, Kennedy said. She was sent to Yale-New Haven Hospital for a medical condition not related to the pregnancy, he said.

Stamford Police worked with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families in handling the case, Kennedy said.

Police are uncertain how long the sexual abuse had been going on, he said.

The boy is being held in Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center on charges of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, Kennedy said.
