Willie Alexander Asberry, 63, Formerly Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Willie Alexander Asberry, a former resident of Stamford, died Wednesday, June 3, at North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Ga. He was 63.

Asberry was born in Cornwall, N.Y., to James A. Asberry and Mattie Homer. He attended Stamford public schools and worked for the Stamford Housing Authority for 27 years.

He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by a sister, Jacqueline Homer Jackson of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, Mack J. Homer and his wife Elma of Stamford, and James O. Homer of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter Shanaya Gill and a son Christion Gill, both of Bridgeport; an aunt, Arthoreen Homer of Valdosta, Ga.; two nephews, Brandon Homer of College Park, Md., and Steven Bromell and his partner Shawn of Conyers, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 13, at 11 a.m. at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove St., Stamford.
