William Lukaniec Sr., 92, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – William J. Lukaniec, a resident of Stamford, died Friday, Feb.19. He was 92.

After graduating from Stamford High School, Lukaniec enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served his country during World War II. He also retired from Colonial Woodworking, where he worked throughout Fairfield County as a finish carpenter. He was also a parishioner at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Stamford.

He is survived by his children, Helen Baker of Stamford, William Jr. and his wife, Renee, of Norwalk, Paul and his wife, Kristi of Stamford and Renee and her husband, Tom, of West Haven; and 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Madeleine; and his sisters, Wanda Slivinsky, Helen Dzamba, and Ann Robinson.

The Lukaniec family will receive the sympathy of friends and family Saturday, March 5, from 9  to 10:30 a.m. at the Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the Holy Name of Jesus Church, 325 Washington Blvd., Stamford. The interment will immediately follow at St. John's Cemetery, in Darien.
