William G. Bulakites, 91, Formerly Of Stamford, WWII Veteran

WALLINGFORD, Conn.  -- William G. Bulakites of Ashlar Village, Wallingford, and formerly of Westport and Stamford, died July 2. He was 91.

Bulakites was born Nov. 16, 1921, in Waterbury, to William G. and Genevieve Phillips Bulakites.  He was a 1939 graduate of Stamford High School and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Following the war, he went on to graduate from New York University under the G.I. Bill.  He was employed as a buyer for Bonwit Teller until his retirement in 1987. Bulakites was a member of the Stamford Senior Men’s Club, Masonic Ashlar Lodge No. 332, Westwood Court No. 8, Order of the Amaranth, and Ashlar Chapter No. 116, Order of the Eastern Star.

Bulakites is survived by his wife, Ottilie Schleinkofer White Bulakites; daughters, Sidnie White Crawford (Dan D.) of Lincoln, Neb., and Deborah O. White (Gary S.) Spenik of Alameda, Calif.; two grandchildren; brother, Gene Bulakites of Shelton; and two nieces. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Gertrude Gillis Bulakites; daughter, Debby Bulakites; and brothers, George and Donald Bulakites.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Yalesville.  Interment in Assumption Cemetery in Westport will be private.
