Sylvia M. Giordano, 82, Of Stamford, Owned Corner Vue Cleaners

STAMFORD, Conn. - Sylvia M. Giordano, a lifelong Stamford resident, died Thursday, Dec. 18. She was 82.

Giordano was born Jan. 23, 1932, to Dominick and Carmella Uva. She was a graduate of Stamford High School and was the owner and operator of the former Corner Vue Cleaners and a member of the Senior Group at St. Leo's Parish.

Giordano is survived by her husband, Frank J. Giordano; children, Gary Giordano (Nancy) and Gina Giordano; brothers, Dominick Uva and Victor Uva; sisters, Theresa Bruno, Gloria Uva; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and sister, Mary Pierni.

Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at St. Leo's Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien.
