Miody was born Dec. 15, 1918, to Benjamin and Mary Mioduszewski in Guttenberg, N.J. During World War II he served as a pilot in the Army Air Corp. After the war he worked as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years. After retiring from the U.S. Postal Service he ran his own business, Stan's Tree Care & Landscaping until 2010. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and the Horticultural Society of Greenwich.
Miody is survived by his children, Janice (Ray) Wisnieski of Cos Cob, and Nancy (James) Morrison of Waterbury; sister, Anne Boraski of Meadowlake, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Claire.
Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Church, 247 Stanwich Road, Greenwich. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 399 North St., Greenwich.
