Salvatore Robert Buchetto, 66, Teacher At Stamford Public Schools

STAMFORD, Conn. - Salvatore Robert Buchetto of Stamford died Oct. 15. He was 66.

Buchetto was born Oct. 12, 1948, to Peter and Ann Buchetto, and grew up in Stamford. He graduated from Southern Connecticut University with a BS in Science, and followed that up by earning two Master's in education, one each from Southern Connecticut University and the University of Bridgeport. He taught in the Stamford Public Schools, teaching science at Burdick and Cloonan Middle Schools. After retiring from Stamford schools, he returned to both his universities, schooling the next generation of teachers in his Graduate Education Classes. He was a longtime member of Grace Evangelical Church on Courtland Avenue.

Buchetto is survived by his wife, Toni; daughter, Kamera Dukes; a granddaughter; family friend, Abraham Davis; sister, Vita Chichester; sister-in-law, Rita Orgera; sisters-in-law, Aly (Dan) McNamara and Kim Orgera; brother-in-law, Bill Ruedaman; many nephews and nieces; and great nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son, Kris; brothers-in-law, Daniel Chichester, Sr.and Bo Orgera; sister, Rachel (Babe) Servidio; and brother, Peter Buchetto.

Calling hours are Sunday, Oct. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cloonan Middle School auditorium. A memorial service will immediately follow from 4 to 5:15 p.m., conducted by Pastor Scott Taylor. The family requests those attending to dress in festive red, white and blue.
