Salvatore J. Rotante, 91, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Salvatore J. Rotante, 91, of Stamford, died Sunday, June 21.

Born Nov. 8, 1923, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Joseph Rotante and Giovannina (Jennie) Princiotti Rotante. A veteran of World War II, Rotante was a tank commander in the 3rd Army during the campaign in France. He worked at Economy TV and Pitney Bowes as an electronic inspector.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Theresa (Coppola) Rotante; his children Joseph P. Rotante, Theodore P. Rotante, Jeanne Samela (Steve) and Maria Gianetti (Rick); He also leaves behind a brother and sister-in-law; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by a sister, brother-in-law and niece.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, June 23 from 4-7 p.m. at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford.
