Scaturchio was born April 24, 1935, in Arena, Provincia of Vibo Valentia Calabria, Italy, to Francesco and Francesca Giamba Scaturchio. He was a master mason by trade beginning in Italy to Stamford and the surrounding areas. He retired from Pitney Bowes after many years of service.
Scaturchio is survived by his children, Frank Scaturchio and Anthony (Enza) Scaturchio, Kathy Karwaski (Thomas) and Frances Greco, all of Stamford; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brother, Pasquale (Marianina) Scaturchio of Greensboro, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Caterina Vavala Scaturchio; brother, Michele (Maria Stella) Scaturchio.
Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home Friday, Sept. 19 at 10:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Bridget of Ireland RC Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave., Stamford, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien.
