Ruth L. Snow Levin, 87, Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Ruth L. Snow Levin, age 87 of Stamford, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at Stamford Hospital.

Ruth was born in the Bronx, the daughter of the late Sidney and Martha Resnick. Ruth was for many year a dedicated second grade teacher in the Bridgeport Public Schools, primarily in the Black Rock and Longfellow Schools. She was also an active member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom of Bridgeport.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband Marvin Levin. Mrs. Levin is survived by her devoted children, Merryl Snow Zegar and her husband Charles, Andrew ("Abie") Snow and his wife Laura, Daniel Snow and his wife Patricia , and Jacob "(Cobi") Levin. She was also a very beloved "Bubbie" to, and survived by, her grandchildren, David Jackson and his wife Stefanie, Matthew Jackson and his significant other Caroline Shin, Julie Snow and her fiancé Derek Coulson, Kimberly Snow, Eric Bean Zegar, Ashley Snow, Emily Snow, Bradley Snow, her step-grandson, Scott Zegar and his fiancé Dominque Allan, and by her cherished grand-grandson Hunter Jackson who brought her great joy these last two years of Life.

Services will take place today, Friday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. at the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, with interment following at the Rodeph Sholom Cemetery, 190 Kings Highway East, Fairfield. Shiva will be held at 51 Ford Road, Westport, following the internment before the Sabbath and again on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday, 4 to 8 p.m. Ruth was a strong, engaging and enlightening spirit who touched many lives and will sorely be missed. Memorial Contributions may be made to Bridgeport Public Education Fund Inc. , 446 University Ave., Bridgeport 06604,www.bpef.org, the Talmud Torah, Social Action Committee or Sisterhood Funds of Congregation Rodeph Sholom, 2385 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, or to American Jewish World Service, 45 West 36th Street, 11th Floor.
