Rose Marie Buchetto, 91, Longtime Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. - Rose Marie Buchetto of Stamford died Wednesday, April 23. She was 91.

Buchetto was born April 29, 1922, to Vito and Adelaide Nico. She was a longtime Stamford resident. She graduated from Stamford High School, Class of 1940, and worked at Conde Nast Publications for 18 years. She then went on to Hilti International as the assistant to the vice president of human resources for 18 years, and then to The Stamford Hospital as assistant to the vice president of human resources for another 17 years.

She was a recent recipient of a medal for her membership and devotion for 60 years with Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Mary 82. She was a member of the Professional Secretary Association. She was a volunteer for many years at the local nursing homes. She retired at age 71.

Buchetto is survived by her son, Robert (Linda) Buchetto; daughter, Geri (Rocky) Genovese; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; cousins; and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Jerry Buchetto; and sister, Mae Bonano.

Calling hours are Monday, April 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
