STAMFORD, Conn. – Rosaline L. Chicatell, 96, died Saturday, June 13.
She was born Dec. 26, 1918, in New Haven to Emma M. Lenoci and Joseph S. Lombardi. The family moved to Darien in 1919.
She graduated from Darien High School in 1936. She married Joseph F. Chicatell on Nov. 21, 1942.
Chicatell was the first female to be elected to the Piedmont Social Club. She was a secretary at Burndy Corp for 20 years and after retiring, she and her husband traveled many places, but they loved Hawaii the most and returned there many times.
She is survived by her three children and their families, Fredrick S. Chicatell, Elaine Chicatell Farnum Anderson; Denise Chicatell Blore-Brown and Clifford T. Brown; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two stepdaughters Kim Farnum Wynne and Heather Farnum Jagodzinski.
She was predeceased by her husband and a daughter-in-law, Margaret Welby Chicatell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., Norwalk.
