Roger Cary, 54, Lifelong Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. - Roger Cary of Stamford died July 4. He was 54.

Cary was born March 27, 1959, son of Michel Cary and Irene Cary of Greenwich. He was a lifelong resident of Stamford. He attended public schools and graduated from Stamford High in 1977. He also attended the University of Texas in Austin. For more than 30 years, he worked in various roles within the retail grocery industry, including management for Grade A Shoprite and Grand Union.

Cary is survived by his mother, Irene; sister, Sheila Cary Eletto of Woodbury; brother, Brian Cary of Phoenix, Ariz.; nieces and nephew; and three grand nephews and a grandniece. He was predeceased by his father, Michel.

Calling hours are Wednesday, July 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nicolas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford with a brief Christian service at 7:30 p.m. Private burial July 11, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich.
