Richard J. Kikta, 68, Lifelong Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. - Richard J. Kikta, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Aug. 22. He was 68.

Kikta was born Feb. 5, 1945, son of Gustave J. Kikta and Helen Butkovsky Kikta. He graduated from the Stamford Catholic High School in 1964; he was a parishioner of St. Cecilia’s Church having served as a eucharistic minister, choir member, and partaking in many parish activities. He was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus with the Fr. Myron V. Miller Council #5833 and Fr. Myron V. Miller 4th Degree Assembly #1794. He served as faithful navigator, comptroller and liaison for Fr. Miller Columbiettes Council #5833.

Kikta is survived by his sister, Joan M. Romano (John) of Stamford; niece, Renee M. Bornstein (Hank) of Stamford; nephew, John A. Romano Jr. (Dona) of Stamford; two great nieces; and two  great nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26 at the St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow at the Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford.
