In addition to his roles as beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Levitt held numerous others: professional, as a successful business owner; artistic, as an accomplished performer throughout Connecticut and in New York City; and philanthropic, as a dedicated volunteer.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in West Hartford, Levitt touched the lives of many across the region. His company, RHL Media, made use of his more than 35 years of experience in the broadcast industry. A graduate of Hall High School in West Hartford and then the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Levitt began his career as a freelance videographer and worked at broadcast stations in Syracuse and Hartford.
In 1978, he joined HBO, where he was involved with more than 150 live events, including World Championship Boxing, high-profile concerts and star-studded comedy shows, and where he ultimately became director of satellite communications.
In 1995, he returned to his first love, video production and post-production, at his own company. In the community, Levitt was active in theater and performance arts, having played roles in varied plays such as "Oliver!," "The Who's Tommy" and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." He is perhaps best-known for his recurring portrayal of Benjamin Franklin in productions of "1776."
Levitt constantly donated his time and services across the area; he has also been a board member and volunteer at Curtain Call Inc. for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Brent McKinley; his two children, Jake and Laine; his sister; three nieces and a nephew; and a large, loving extended family.

A memorial service will be held at The Italian Center of Stamford, 1620 Newfield Ave., Stamford, on Thursday, April 9, at noon.
