Regina Ann Promis, 94, Worked For The City Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. - Regina Ann Promis, a resident of Stamford and a former resident of Pinellas Park and Clearwater, Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 16. She was 94.

Promis was born Nov. 23, 1919, in Greenwich, to Michael and Josephine Gutwerk Doeberl. She was employed as an office manager with the city of Stamford's Urban Redevelopment Commission for 20 years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Red Hats in Clearwater.

Promis is survived by her children, the Rev. Christopher P. Promis of Chicago and Michael J. Promis (Janice) of Stamford; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Leopold E. Promis; sister, Edith Thomson; and brother, Frank Doeberl.

Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford. A procession will leave the funeral home Saturday, Sept. 20, at 9:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Leo’s Parish, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Interment will be private.
