Ralph R. Bocuzzo, 86, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Ralph R. Bocuzzo, 86, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Tuesday, Nov. 3 at his home.

He was born March 21, 1929, in Stamford, and was one of two sons born to the late Sandy and Carmella (Sileo) Bocuzzo. He was born and raised in Stamford and was a graduate of Stamford High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and was deployed overseas to serve during the Korean War. He was a decorated soldier and very proud of his service to his country.

He returned home to Stamford to his wife, Yolanda, (Samela) Bocuzzo, and he started his business and a family. He was the owner and operator of Post Road Electrical Supply for more than 60 years, where he enjoyed working with his sons until his retirement. He was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a longtime member of the Stamford Rotary Club. 

He was a very active man who was an accomplished bowler, ballroom dancer and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and anything having to do with nature and animals.

He is survived by his two sons, Sandy Bocuzzo and his wife, Marie, and Ralph Bocuzzo Jr. and his wife, Josephine; his daughter, Roseann DeLuca and her husband, Robert; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife and one brother.

Family and friends may offer their sympathy from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford. The committal service and interment will immediately follow Mass at St. John Cemetery in Darien.
